The Optimistic Liverpool Fan

So Liverpool has a new chairman!

In the midst of this disappointing season, i would like to paint a picture of my ideal situation.

This is how things are going to turn out =)

1) The new chairman finds new investors within 1 month. This new investor is a passionate football fan from Singapore (!!). He believes strongly in the people he employs and insists on a hands off approach. Leaving the management of the club to his able men.

2) Construction of the stadium in Stanley Park begins by December 2010. It has a capacity of 65000, with option of extending to 75000. The stadium is named "New Anfield" (!!). The stadium construction rejuvenates the entire community, bringing new investment and vibrancy the city.

3) Rafael Benitez gets the money he needs. He has a free hand on the transfers. The most talented British players are attracted to the club and bred at The Academy. The best talent from the world want to play in front of the New Kop.

4) Pepe Reina goes on to become the best goalkeeper in the world. The Reds have a fearsome back 4 protecting him. Wing backs overlap with speed and purpose, able to cross the ball with both feet.

5) Steven Gerrard evolves as he ages, continuing to be a rock in Liverpool's midfield. The orchestrates the play, bringing our tricky wingers into the game. Opponents are stretched by sweeping moves and a solid passing game. Our penetrating through passes and pin point set pieces threaten any defense. Mascherano spends many more years at the club, maturing into a classy yet aggressive defensive midfielder, that can shoot!

6) Fernando Torres and his new strike partner breaks every record available.

7) Young players are brought through and given the change to shine. Melwood is energized and morale remains high.

8) Trophies are won every season, and New Anfield becomes a true fortress.

9) Liverpool fans around the world increase in numbers.

10) A new era begins!

=)
